The Priorat region, located west of Barcelona close to Spain's eastern coast, presents a remote outpost of rugged hillsides laced with ancient vineyards where some of the country's best wines are produced. It's a blend of 60 percent Carignan, 30 percent Garnacha and 10 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, aged several months in barriques followed by tank and cask aging.
