 If you thought the Douro’s best wines were only ever a variation on the power game, this is quite the opposite, with a lofty and layered elegance. Douro for Pinot Noir fans. It is a very dark red / purple colour and the nose is very ripe and deep with plenty of red fruit, spice and chocolate notes. The wine is very well strutured with good tannin, hints of green pepper and sweet red fruit on the palate. Very good finish. This is a big, rich and complex wine but perhaps with a bit more subtlety than some Douro reds. A Must Try!
